How does DADI guarantee the performance and availability of the network?
The network is only as good as its nodes. For it to be a success it needs a groundswell of support and contributing individuals (Hosts and Gateways [also known as miners]). This is the key rational for the DADI Crowdsale.
The availability of the network is guaranteed by the blockchain itself. The availability of Host resources and Gateway bandwidth is managed through a proof of service system that periodically reports activity against specific service contacts, updating a reputation system that we use to favour the most performant nodes.
Hosts and Gateways announce themselves to the network by time locking a volume of DADI tokens (larger for Gateways than for Hosts). This feeds the reputation system and helps to mitigate the risk of Sybil attacks, as valuable locks are not trivial to create.
